Vast Productions was formed with the aim of developing and producing high quality Australian and international film and television projects.
The company's debut project, '4', a feature length documentary three years in the making, was a bold co-production between Australia, the United States, Japan and Finland. To date it has been theatrically released to critical acclaim in Australia and New Zealand, and continues to be broadcast internationally. It has won and been nominated for many awards, including two Australian Film Institute Awards.
Every Other Weekend, a fifteen minute drama financed by the Australian Film Commission and based on an American short story, has played at more than 20 international festivals and continues its global travels and screened on MTV in North America in 2008.
Just completed is Blank Canvas, a fascinating profile of Rafael Bonachela and Sydney Dance Company, which celebrates the painful, extraordinary experience of being a dancer. Blank Canvas is distributed internationally through Electric Sky, England. It commences broadcast on Foxtel's Biography Channel from 3rd October 2009 and Qantas Inflight on international flights from 1st November 2009.
